Southern California sports medicine physician Dr. Mark Getelman has been named “2016 Champions in Healthcare Specialist Physician” by the Pacific Coast Business Times. Dr. Getelman received this honor for his experience, expertise and history in forging successful partnerships to make healthcare accessible and to improve patient outcomes in the Tri County region including Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Louis Obispo Counties.

After receiving his medical degree at the University of Florida, Dr. Getelman completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Boston University. Following his residency, he came to Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) for a sports medicine, arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery fellowship program. In 1997, he permanently joined the team at SCOI and treats patients in the Thousand Oaks and Van Nuys offices. Dr. Getelman serves the Greater Los Angeles and Ventura County areas and specializes in treating conditions of the shoulder and knee as well as all sports related injuries. His practice is focused on advanced repair techniques for treating shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears, SLAP lesions and ACL, meniscal and articular cartilage injuries.
